COVID-19 NOTICE: OUR FIRM REMAINS FULLY OPERATIONAL AND READILY AVAILABLE DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
So many different situations can lead to accidental falls. One of the biggest situations is a wet floor. If an owner does not keep an environment in a good, safe condition, someone can get hurt. A wet floor is particularly dangerous because it can be easily overlooked unless whatever is spilled on it is colored or has some level of volume.
If water is on the floor, someone could slip and fall on it because it blends in with the floor underneath and can create a slick surface.
This is especially true if the water is on a tiled surface because there is nothing there to absorb the liquid and it can be like an ice rink. You can easily lose their footing and fall to the ground, injuring themselves. The injury can be significant, especially if you are older or frail.
It is important to find help if you fall on a wet floor. It is the responsibility of the owner to make sure all spills are cleaned up right away, or at the very least, the area is roped off, so people do not have access to it. If the owner does not do this, it opens them up to culpability and liability. They are responsible to make sure you are okay and taken care of.
If you fall, through no fault of your own, you can find information to help you at Levine and Wiss law firm. We can help you figure out what the next steps are and what you might be entitled to, as far as damages. We can review your case and let you know if we can help you. If we take your case, we will take care of contacting the owner of the place where you got hurt and help figure out the situation.
