What To Expect During the Initial Consultation

Each personal injury case begins with an initial consultation. At Levine and Wiss, we offer initial consultations for free. You may be wondering what an initial consultation for a personal injury claim entails. Below are some things you can expect from an initial consultation with an attorney.

Sign A Retainer Agreement
If your case is one the law firm is willing to accept, you will likely be provided with a retainer agreement. A lawyer cannot represent you without a written retainer agreement. Once that agreement is in effect, your counsel should start gathering the documents and information he or she will need to try your case.

Identify Damages
In order to arrive at a figure for damages, your lawyer will need to determine the extent of your injuries, including pain and suffering, disability and disfigurement, the cost of medical treatment, and lost wages. Many times these elements of damages cannot be determined without extensive research and consultation with expert witnesses.

Have you or a loved one suffered an injury due to an accident? Contact Levine and Wiss. It is important that you consult an attorney as soon as possible. The sooner you call us, the better your chances of recovery will be, as we may still be able to assess witness accounts. Contact us at 1-888-GOT-HURT (1-888-468-4878) for a free consultation.
